EMPLOYMENT AND LABOR RELATIONSHIP
OVERVIEW

Vietnam’s labor regime is employee‑centric and closely supervised by the authorities. Foreign‑invested companies must balance global Human Resources (HR) standards with Vietnam’s detailed Labor Code, social‑insurance obligations, and strict work‑permit rules. Henrison Law equips you with practical, legally sound employment solutions that keep your workforce compliant, motivated, and cost‑efficient as your business grows.

WHAT WE DO
  • Draft and localise employment contracts for local and expatriate staff, clearly defining compensation, confidentiality, and non‑compete terms.
  • Obtain and renew work permits, and temporary‑residence cards for foreign employees.
  • Prepare compulsory HR documentation: internal labor regulations, employee handbooks, performance‑evaluation schemes, collective labor agreements, bonus‑penalty policies, and other statutory policies.
  • Advise on payroll structuring, social‑insurance contributions, personal‑income tax withholding, severance and job‑loss allowances, and other employment‑related costs—optimising labour expenses while remaining fully compliant.
  • Design labour‑cost optimisation strategies that meet business goals and comply with law.
  • Represent clients in workforce restructuring: preparing plans, negotiating with employees or unions, filing notifications, and executing headcount adjustments lawfully and efficiently.
  • Develop sector‑specific HR policies and retention strategies (e.g., IT talent retention, scalable staffing models) that evolve with each growth phase.
  • Conduct HR compliance audits, evaluate existing policies, and deliver actionable improvements.
  • Provide ongoing monthly advisory support for everyday employment matters, ensuring quick, practical answers to HR questions.
